Raleigh Downtown Development - Construction on New Progress Energy Facility
Raleigh, N.C. (May 2003) -Juba Aluminum Products has contracted with general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie to perform the exterior glass and glazing work on the Progress Energy office tower.
The project is located in downtown Raleigh adjacent to Progress Energy's existing corporate headquarters on Wilmington Street. The window system consists of a custom high performance design which is extremely energy efficient.
The property will become a prominent mixed-used development and is scheduled to include site work and improvements for the 3 acre site; a seven (7) level, approximately 388,000 sf parking deck; a twelve (12) story, 380,000 sf office tower, which includes a trading floor for commodity traders. The building will be reflective of typical class office space; and, over 23,000 sq of retail space that will be located on the ground floor along E. Davie and Blount Street.
Juba Aluminum Product's role is in the exterior design and construction to begin this month. The overall project construction duration is 17 months.
