Juba Aluminum Products Awarded Certification as Woman-Owned Business
Concord, N.C. -- March 2003) -Juba Aluminum Products Company, one of the southeast's leading glazing contractors headquartered in Concord, N.C., is pleased to announce that the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) has certified us as a business owned and controlled by a woman. This certification was presented by Janet Harris-Lange, president of NWBOC. Juba Aluminum Products Company was certified in February, 2003.
"We are grateful to have national certification as an alternative to the multiple state and local certifications required by many agencies," explains Joni D. Juba, chief executive officer. "This program will enable us to develop relationships with larger companies and create opportunities for future partnerships with them and public and private companies. The impact of this certification will open opportunities for us to bid work in areas that have otherwise been restricted."
"Juba is doing business today with the same intensity as we did when we started in 1993 and our commitment to excellence remains the same. We already had an infrastructure in place that met the standards and procedures of a woman-owned business, it was just a matter of going through the certification process," says Janna Juba Riley, vice-president of sales.
"As a sister organization to the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Center for Women's Business Research (CWBR), NWBOC seeks to increase the ability of women business owners to compete for corporate and government contracts. At the same time NWBOC also hopes to decrease the number of front operations participating in corporate and government outreach programs," says Janet Harris-Lange.
The National Women Business Owners CorporationTM, a national 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, was established to increase competition for corporate and government contracts through implementation of a pioneering economic development strategy for women business owners.
