Raleigh Downtown Development - Construction Completed on new Progress Energy Facility
November 2005 --Completion has been achieved on the new Two Progress Plaza in downtown Raleigh.
Juba Aluminum Products acted as the glass and glazing subcontractor performing the sophisticated exterior curtainwall requirements, completing the facility on time and within budget. The property is prominent mixed-used development that includes a twelve (12) story 380,000 sf office tower, parking deck and, over 23,000 sf of retail space that is located on the ground floor along E. Davie and Blount Street.
The window system consisted of a custom, high-performance design which is extremely energy efficient. Additional items in Juba's scope included installation of architectural spandrel precast, glazed aluminum curtain wall system and ornamental aluminum grilles, revolving entrance doors, entrances, storefronts and stainless steel claddings, corrugated metal panels, louvers, grilles, sun controls, and mirrors.
The project is located in downtown Raleigh adjacent to Progress Energy's existing corporate headquarters on Wilmington Street.

The project team included general contractor team - Brasfield & Gorrie of Raleigh, architect - Cooper Cary, Inc. of Atlanta; and, owner's representative - Carter & Associates of Atlanta.
