Atlanta Public School, New Administration Building
Atlanta, GA. (January 2004) -Final completion was achieved last month on the 8 - story, APS Center for Learning and Leadership in Atlanta, Georgia.
Juba Aluminum Products acted as the glass and glazing subcontractor performing the 20,000 sf. of exterior curtainwall design and construction. Tony Dockery, project manager, said the project offered some unique challenges and that its success was due to the collaborative effort between Russell/Hardin - general contractor, Juba Aluminum Products, and Turner Associates - architects.
The new building is located at 130 Trinity Avenue in the downtown Atlanta government district and replaces the previous headquarters on Pryor Street, immediately west of the new complex.
The Center houses the school district's administrative offices, as well as the Atlanta Board of Education's meeting chamber and a special parents' center, where parents can convene meetings or hold conferences.
